MK6 GTI COBB ACCESSPORT USERS: CRITICAL FIRMWARE UPDATE

A critical bug has been discovered in a recent firmware and map revision specific to Mk6 GTI Accessport users. Mk6 GTI owners with ECU type CCTA 1K0907115AP using a COBB Off The Shelf Map are strongly encouraged to back-date their firmware and remove v105 OTS Maps from their Accessport to avoid potentially rendering their GTI’s ECU unresponsive.

This affects any orders placed and fulfilled by COBB after 6/6/2018.

If your VLK-001 Accessport is on firmware version 1.7.3.0-16234, we strongly encourage back-dating to 1.7.3.0-15655 immediately. To update Accessport firmware, you will first need to download and install Accessport Manager onto your Mac or Windows-based computer.

Next, perform a firmware update by connecting your Accessport and following the instructions at the following link.

Once Accessport firmware has been updated (backdated) to 1.7.3.0-15655, be sure to remove any v105 Off The Shelf Maps from the unit. You can do this by selecting the Manage tab in Accessport Manager. Then, filter the files by selecting Maps from the drop-down menu. Highlight any v105 map files in the field below and either click on the “Trash Can” button within Accessport Manager or press the Delete button on your keyboard. This will remove those maps from the Accessport.
