Excellent result for Dmitrij Sribnyj competing in Javelin and Toyota Sprint Championship Round 2 at Blyton Park
The SCR BRZ86 done a perfect job, progressed through the day and managed to get both class wins and into 6th overall from 83 drivers. Additionally Dmitrij has set the lap record for the J03 class on Eastern layout of Blyton Park Circuit with 1:05.49.
The race day started with practice runs where he made fast times within his class. By midday, Dmitrij decided to swap the front brake pads and try the red stuff that is supplied by PB Brakes. He had a street set fitted, that worked perfectly for Gymkhana due to their softer compound designed to work from cold. While still learning high-speed driving over the last two years, he noticed that during high-speed braking, a lot of force had to be used. Dmitrij hasn’t given it much thought until this day.
With the simple but very efficient design of the PB brake calipers, it was a few minute job to install the new pads. Dmitrji made one easy run to break in the fresh pads, and the braking power was impressive right away. The car felt completely different, very sharp even with the slightest touch on the brake pedal. On the final two runs, more confident and superior braking power, he knocked another two seconds off his fastest lap. This was an impressive improvement, considering that the modification was by enhancing stopping power and not to increase the speed.
In overall it was a fantastic day with beautiful weather and motorsport community gathering in a great location.
Well done to all the drivers and congratulations to class winners.
