Co-ordSport’s young SuperStar has the ultimate weekend, Logan Hodgetts proved what an outstanding talent he is in wet conditions at the week, racing in the Bambino C50 Kart Super1 series at Rowrah in Cumbria.
In Round 3, Bambino C50 Qualifying, It was close with Logan just behind Henry Hales. In Heat 1, Hodgetts fought hard in wet conditions and won the race just ahead of Will Wainwright and Noah Wiklo. Heat 2 and another wet track, but Logan stamped his authority on the track, pipping Ollie West and Noah Wilko at the finish. Come the final, it was similar, but this time Hodgetts pipped Noah Wiklo, who was just ahead of Ollie West.
Logan deserved his sausage sandwich that night, having been able to hold his place through the day’s races and proving his calibre as a young, up and coming driver of the future.
The next day and Round 4, again damp conditions, and after a steady start with 5th in the Qualifying, Logan went on to take 2nd in Heat 1, behind Noah Wiklo, and 3rd in Heat 2, in a close tussle with Wiklo and Ernie Wade. Logan calmly set about turning the tables in the Final, with dry lines, winning in the mixed conditions, ahead of Wiklo and Will Wainwright.
What a weekend, what a team effort, for a great promising young driver. Part-Box is more than pleased to be a very proud supporter of Logan Hodgetts.
Super One Series Round 3 & 4 Rowrah Kart Circuit Race Report
Saturday: Round 3
Qualifying – P2
Heat 1 – P2 ⬆️ P1 😄 (Fastest Lap 🟪)
Heat 2 – P2 ⬆️ P1 😁
Final – P1 ➡️ P1 🏆
A very wet day with really difficult conditions that went really well for me. I shine in the wet, which was shown by my results.
I qualified 2nd just as 0.076s off pole but I knew I had the pace to win. I won the first heat after pulling out a gap of 2.5s to take the flag first. Heat 2 was more difficult, under pressure from 2nd the whole way but I just managed to get the win by 0.8s.
The final was even closer, with a quick Noah Wiklo behind, swapping places throughout the race, i just about took the win by 0.6s.
Sunday: Round 4
Qualifying – P5
Heat 1 – P5 ⬆️ P2
Heat 2 – P5 ⬆️ P3
Final – P2 ⬆️ P1 🏆
Sunday was more difficult. The morning was still very wet but it was scheduled to dry out as the day went on.
I qualified in P5, not quite putting a lap together but still at the sharp end of the grid. In the first heat, I came though the field and got up to P2. However Noah had pulled out a 7.5s gap meaning I couldn’t catch up. In the second heat, it had began to dry up and a dry line was starting to form. I got up to P2 at the start before dropping down to P3 where I finished the race.
My results in the heats put me 2nd on the grid for the final. It was now completely dry for the first time all weekend. I dropped back 2 seconds to Noah on lap one. But over the next few laps I started to close the gap, getting it down to 0.1s with 4 laps to go. After catching up, I sat behind until the final lap when I started to attack. After a few tried but failed overtaking chances it was down to the final corner where I sent it down the inside to take the win by just 0.068s.
